1. mile a day... well, that didn't exactly pan out as i had hoped. it started on the right foot, but then quickly turned into two miles every other day... so, while i'm happy i was able to log 40+ miles for the month of january, i didn't exactly follow the goal. but i'm okay with that. because i made a concerted effort to move my ass more. and will continue to do so february (;
2. eat a healthy, plant-based diet... so this one i was pretty okay with. life threw in some curveballs that had me eating my feelings (ie consuming dairy) for a few days, but, overall i was able to cut out a lot of processed food and focus more on eating whole foods. also, hubby and i discovered a
3. school... oh school.. let's talk about you in february because, for some reason, i've managed to procrastinate the FINAL portion of my final for two months now. #winning
4. be happy... this is definitely hard to do when life seems to surround you with nothing but sorrow- dramatic, i know. but happiness is a choice, and sometimes it's a hard choice. i'm still working on this one, i guess... i won't even tell you the number of pity parties i threw myself this month. let's just say, even I'M sick of it.. but, my new goal is not just to be happy, but to not be so hard on myself. i mean, if i'm not on my own team, who else will be?
did you have any goals or resolutions for january?
how did you do on those?
i'm going to make a list of february goals, too.
because, even if i fail, it's worth trying.

I think it's great that you are keeping your January goals in mind still. So many people have forgotten them already!
I didn't set a goal for my necessarily but I did choose a word to try and live by and that was Patience. Just like you, I can be too hard on myself and I expect a lot from myself but I have to remember to go easy because I've still got lots of time to do all the things I dream of doing. BE HAPPY is a great goal : )
40+ miles? get it, girl! I'm loving the plant-based diet. But I'll be honest - stress eating is a constant concern over in my house. now, no more pity parties for you! Life is awesome!
xoxo
i think you can go ahead and count this month as a WIN for you. you made some major progress in all goals (school doesnt count :]).
My january goals... no fast food and closet clean-out! i'm counting this month as a win too! :]
I would definitely say you stuck to your goals! I'm impressed. Somedays just don't work out for exercise, but the important thing is that it's a part of your regular routine and you make a conscious effort to stay active. 40 miles? You're badass! I love your plant based resolution. I like to think I'm mostly plant based, but gosh, the cheese gets me. Fortunately I don't hate almond cheese and should eat it more! Thanks for the reminder.
